Well, it finally happened, I made into Rose's Luxury! For those of you who are not familiar, Rose's Luxury was Bon Appetit's #1 Best New Restaurant in America 2014, so they're like kind of a big deal.

As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, Rose's Luxury has been on my list since day 1. The only question was when I would be able to go. One thing to note is that Roses's Luxury does not take reservations, yes you read that correctly, no reservations, so it was important that I time my visit right. I headed over right after work, arriving at 6pm, a little later than I wanted but I was there and ready to eat! I waited in line about 10 minutes before reaching the hostess stand where a cheery hostess told me the wait would be approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (I'm sorry, what?!) but that they'd text me when my table was ready so I could wait upstairs at the bar or, if I wanted somewhere else (okay, I can handle this).

1 hour and 58 minutes later I was starting to really sweat (had they forgotten me? did the text get lost somewhere in the universe?) when the text finally came, my table was ready! You can bet I immediately threw cash down for the mediocre glass of wine I was nursing at the bar down the and sprinted back to the restaurant.

Not only was my table ready but it was the table I had requested, a seat at the chef's counter, win! After being sat, I was greeted by my server who warmly welcomed. I could tell tell from her upbeat personality we were going to be fast friends. After reviewing the menu and discussing the options with my server I had made a decision, well at least for my first round of ordering.

Before I get into the food I should mention just how freaking adorable Rose's Luxury is inside (outside too!). The chef's counter sits between the front dining room and the magical back dining room which boasts low strung picnic lights above the tables. Behind the hostess stand a staircase leads to the upstairs where you'll find another bar and small dining room. The decor is warm and inviting and honestly you'll want to move right in!
